Aunt Margie’s Pork Cantonese Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lb boneless pork cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp salad oil
  • 1 14 oz pineapple chunks
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 2 green peppers cut in strips
  • 2 onions sliced and cut into rings
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions:

  1. Brown pork on all sides in hot oil.
  2. Drain pineapple and mushrooms, reserving juice, combine all liquids to make 2 cups.
  3. Add liquid to pork and simmer until tender for 45 min.
  4. Stir in molasses and vinegar until blended.
  5. Add pineapple, mushrooms,peppers, onions,cover and cook 10 min.
  6. Keep veg., crisp.
  7. Blend cornstarch in water cook until thick.
  8. Serve over hot rice.
